Ok Blogging World this is my first post this is gonna be kind of lame so bear with me I promise it will get better. I created this blog so that I could give my take on the latest films, and t.v. shows as well as my opinion on the latest Hollywood News. I thought I would start off with a quick review on some of the latest movies that I have seen The first being Sherlock Holmes, then Mission Impossible and lastely the Muppets Movie.
I have seen the first sherlock holmes and enjoyed more than I expected too, so to say i had high expectation for the sequeal is a understatemnet but as expected with sequeals this movie greatly underpreformed. RDJ was fine as holmes never once breaking from his accent or the charms that Holmes gives off. Jude Laws watson was also fine although I did detect a couple of scenes where watson who usally limps through every scene was walking like he had no issues with his leg especially during the last scene of the film but that is beside the point. Watson and Holmes together again for another adventure I enjoyed the dynamic between RDJ and Law because its clear the two have great chemistry on screen what I was less crazy about was Noomi Rapace as the new female lead (Rachal Mcadams makes a brief apperance in the film). Its not a good sign whenever she apperad on screen I kept looking at the highlites in her hair and wondering for a gypsy woman who her stylist was. Another aspect that could have been taken out of the film was the slo mo action scenes. I'm sorry these scenes are getting old and rather repetitive. How many ways can I watch a bullet slowly shooting out the barrel of a gun and slowly make its way to its intended target. I missed the good old days of a fast paced action sequence. The ending was uneventful and ineveitably left room for there to be another sequeal although based on last weeks numbers there may not be one.

Next is Mission Impossible, now I have seen the first two and I wasn't a big fan of either I didn't see the third mostly because it came out during a time when tom cruise was proclaiming to be a doctor and that he knew more about medicine than actual doctors do. But that all happend so long ago that one barely remembers that incident. Cruise's Ethan Hunt is back once again to helm a whole new team which includes jane carter played by the kick butt Paula Patton, returning computer whiz Benji Dunn played by Simon Pegg and analyst Jeremy Renner. The movie opens with Ethan in jail with both carter and dunn plotting to bust him out of jail. Once Hunt is out action rarely stops with all four getting their chance to play the hero. Shout out to patton who has an amazing one on one fight with french actress lea sedyoux that fight alone is worth the price of admission. Rumors have been running around that Renner would be taking over the franchise but the end of the film gives no indication of this happening (does renner really need to helm another franchise when he already has the avengers and the bourne films and third would just be greedy). Is there a possibility for a 5 th film in the series probably based on early numbers. Will movie goers wanna see a 50 year old running around saving the world, if it works for Bruce Willis than why not tom.
My Grade B
Last we come to the Muppets Movie, I really didn't want to see this movie not because I have a dislike of muppet films because I grew up with them they were a big part of my childhood. What I'm not crazy about are kids films. I know your supposed to suspend disbelief but sometimes its just dosen't seem like its worth it. But what I'm referring to to are the ones that are done wrong and only those. The ones that are done right like the muppets make me want to relent on this idea. Now it took me a solid five six minutes before I was fully invested in the film. There is a lot of singing but not as much as one would think. (Sidenote what happened to the good old days when people expressed themselves through words instead of karaoking the latest song to top the chart). I give the muppets credit in the fact that they wrote there own songs. The story follows Gary and Mary played by Jason Segel and Amy Adams and gary's younger brother walter who just happens to be a muppet. Walter grows up feeling left out and finds solice in the muppet television show. The three take a trip down to LA so gary and mary can celebrate their 10 year anniversary and walter can see the old stomping grounds of the his idols. What's great about the movie is that it dosen't take itself to seariously it makes fun of itself as well as letting the audience know that its in on the jokes. Adults I think get the humor more than kids. In my audience more adults laughed than kids. I don't think they got the traveling by map joke a route that the original muppet movies used to take. The cameos are great and plenty you have stars of yester year such as Mickey Rooney and stars of today like selena gomez (you think Mr.Rooney knows who selena gomez is and has Miss Gomez ever heard of Mr. Rooney) If you haven't made plans to see muppet movie please do.
